Civil Rights Film Festival

"Go Down Old Hannah:  The Research and Interpretation of African American Texans Living History
Naomi Carrier and Talking Back Actors share the research behind the development of the historical plays in Go Down, Old Hannah, with video footage from performances and music.

"From the Page to the Stage:  Developing First Person Interpretation"
This is a hands-on workshop for museum interpreters with a step-by-step approach to developing site specific first person interpretation from research to performance.

"Befo’ Gran’pa N’em:  The How-to’s of Genealogy"
The methodology of finding out who were your ancestors including what documents hold clues to vital information; where to find needed documents; putting what the documents reveal into meaningful stories that can be preserved and shared for years to come.  Includes methods of preservation vs. saving documents and artifacts.

‘Member Dat Time:  Writing poetry that captures long ago memories"
Carrier help participants use imagery, symbols and rhyming words to write poetry about  their past and their aspirations; the stuff of recollections, stories and dreams.
